In the year 1889, Margherita pizza was prepared by Esposito for the first time for Queen of Savoy, Margherita. Esposito had baked three innovative pizzas for Queen Margherita and the queen was mesmerized by its inexplicably wonderful flavor. Since then, the pizza was named Margherita pizza in the honor of the queen.

- 2 table spoons extra virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 6 fresh basil leaves cut into julienne strips
- ¼ cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese
- ½ pound chopped Roma potatoes
- 1 garlic clove- crushed and thoroughly chopped
- 1 uncooked Ney York style pizza of 12”
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Shredded mozzarella cheese-6 oz.
The above ingredients are used for preparing pizza Margherita. However, you can make your additions or modifications to bring out a different taste of your liking thus making your version of Margherita!
Procedure
The following are the steps to prepare the dish.
Step1
Prepare a mixture of 2 table spoons of olive oil, tomato, salt and garlic in a bowl.

Let the mixture rest and get marinated. In the meantime, you can make the dough.

The surface of the dough has to be smoothened. So, put some olive oil on the crust of the dough and remove its roughness.

Add the toppings which should include humble amount of tomato and cheese.

Sprinkle olive oil on the topped dough.

Now the dough with the toppings has to be baked in an oven. Make sure that you preheat the oven at 500F on pizza stone. Heat the topped dough for about 10 minutes until the dough surface turns golden and the cheese puffs up.
